The GSDS1000 from GMC is an impressive example of an SDS Plus Hammer Drill. Featuring a powerful 1000W motor, it boasts 4 J of impact energy with 4000 impacts per minute in both forward and reverse modes.
Weighing in at 3.8 kg, this GMC SDS Plus Drill is heavy enough to deliver some real clout, but is also surprisingly easy to control, and the soft-grip handle means it is comfortable to work with for extended periods. It features variable speed via the adjustment dial, affording total control of your chosen application.
Three fully-operational functions allow the GSDS1000 to tackle any drilling or chiselling applications, with the standard drill mode catering for drilling into wood, plastics and metals (including steel), while switching to the hammer drill mode initiates an impact action to drill into masonry, such as bricks, blocks, cement and concrete. Roto-stop chisel mode allows you to chip or break stone and other masonry for more hardcore tasks.
The on/off trigger switch affords user control and a natural working position. An additional secondary handle, also soft-grip, allows more pressure to be exerted and aids precision where necessary, for instance, when using the hammer function to drill into masonry.
The GMC GSDS1000 accepts all drill bits with an SDS Plus fitting, as long as they are equal to (or smaller than) the diameter capacity stated for the chosen workpiece material. Compatible with bits from all brands and manufacturers, such as the 5 piece SDS Plus Masonry Drill Set from Silverline, (code 930164).
